Jefferey Thomas Porcaro.
Born April 1, 1954 – Jeff Porcaro was an American drummer, songwriter, and record producer. In a career that spanned more than 20 years, Porcaro was best known for his work with the bandToto, who had hits such as Africa, Rosanna, Hold the Line and Georgy Porgy.
Porcaro is one of the most recorded session musicians in history, working on hundreds of albums and thousands of sessions through the 70s till the 90s including

On August 5th 1992, Jeff Porcaro tragically passed away. He was 38 years old
In 1993, he was posthumously inducted into the Modern Drummer Hall of Fame
TGLP Spotlight Series is where I (Stevie Taylor) and my friends sit down and talk about our favourite musicians. Be it local, be it worldwide. Musicians that have influenced us,inspired us, impacted us as musicians ourselves.
We talk about their careers, their music, legacy, we listen to some of the songs they’ve played on and we analyse these songs the best way we know how.
This is certainly not a new concept, we’re not changing the game here. We are just hanging out, bouncing stories of each other, sharing information that the others may not have known. But in the process, adding to the legacy of these brilliant musicians.

Over the past several decades you would have heard Louie Shelton’s signature guitar riffs and solos on more hit records than any other session guitarist in history. The Wrecking Crew, The Monkees, Boz Scaggs, Lionel Ritchie, Glen Campbell, Seals and Croft and so much more…A true legend. Louie and Jeff both played together on Boz Scaggs Silk Degrees album.
